The European Commission has just launched new calls for proposals targeted at research and innovation projects in the energy and mobility sectors, especially focused on the climate transition, sustainable energy use and supply, and resilient transport and smart mobility services.

Overall, more than €420 million will be granted through these calls under Horizon Europe, the key funding programme of the European Union for supporting research and innovation projects.

Specifically, the new calls are under the programme’s Cluster 5, dedicated to Energy, Climate Action, and Mobility research actions. The overall aim of this cluster is to accelerate the green and digital transitions, contribute to the climate-neutrality goals of the European Green Deal, and increase energy resilience in the EU.

All calls and deadlines of this and other clusters are available in our Horizon Europe 2023-2024 calendar.

All project proposals must be submitted on the Funding & Tenders portal before September 5th, except for the second call for a sustainable, secure and competitive energy supply, which will remain open until October 10th.

The submitted proposals will be evaluated by external, independent experts. Applicants will receive the results at the latest five months after the deadline. If successful, a grant agreement will be signed within eight months after the deadline.
